Italy can host the 2027 World Championships
Italy (FIJLKAM) launches official bid to host the 2027 World Seniors Karate Championships.
The announcement was made by Davide Benetello, President of the Karate Sector (FIJLKAM), on the federation's website, who expressed immense pride and optimism for the nation's sporting future.
"To the karate world, we have some monumental news: the Italian Federation's candidacy to host the next 2027 Senior World Championships in Italy is now official," Benetello announced.
This ambitious bid is the latest milestone in Italy’s rapidly growing portfolio of elite international karate events. The Mediterranean nation has recently solidified its reputation as a powerhouse organizer, riding the wave of the massive success achieved during the historic Premier League leg in Rome. That triumph directly paved the way for Italy to secure the rights to host the 2027 Premier League circuit as well.
Italy’s credential list doesn't stop there. The country has become a cornerstone of the World Karate Federation (WKF) calendar, thanks to the perennial success of the annual Youth League in Venice-Jesolo and the flawless execution of the 2024 World Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships.
With this official bid for the 2027 Senior Worlds, Italy is not just looking to host an event—it is looking to cement its status as the absolute epicenter of world karate.
